New Generation Church

(Nueva Generacion Iglesia)

General Information

We endeavor to do God's work, not our own.  To that end, Psalm 127 is really clear that "except the Lord build the house, they labor in vain who build it" (verse 1). This is a church built on the Word of God with a specific purpose of sending people out to do the work of ministry, not just hear about it.

The name of the church is New Generation, based on I Peter 2:9: "But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, and a peculiar people; that you should show forth the praises [goodness, excellent works, gospel] of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light."

The church is not a building, but rather a group of people who come together in the name of our Lord, Jesus Christ.  Each member of a local body of believers is called to a great purpose, for it is the purpose of God and that makes it great. 

We believe that the number of members is not important, but the depth of the understanding in each member is of significant importance.  The church is a family, not simply a bunch of people who get together to listen to somebody say something.  In that, we help each other, support each other, encourage each other, and build each other up.

Every Saturday afternoon classes are offered.

Workers

Marcy Fenn, pastor

     - provide vision for the church (e.g., direction, teaching, events, etc.)

     - preach and teach

     - pray for and about the church

     - teach and train people to do the work

     - provide direction for people

     - oversee classes (i.e., checking curriculum, connecting class lessons with church message,  

        organizing hands-on trips)

     - clean, greet, sing, help, and anything needed!

Kjell Fenn, associate pastor and director of outreach and church planting

     - pray for and about the church

     - teach discipleship classes

     - encourage and exhort

     - strategize, coordinate, and execute outreach

     - plan and organize church planting

     - train and raise up pastors and teachers

     - connect with the community (leaders, groups, store owners, etc.)

     - clean, greet, sing, help and anything needed!

Luis Sorto, associate pastor, teacher and translator (NOTE: Luis does not 'work' for New Generation Church; he is the founder of the church and the director of Love Without Boundaries, the ministry under which the church operates. Without Luis' help and encouragement, the church would likely not function.  He is listed here to honor him and a humble man who seeks God and the increase of God's Kingdom as illustrated in his helping role in New Generation Church.)

     - translate messages from English to Spanish

     - teach classes on Fridays and Saturdays to boys

          ~ these classes are discipleship and training classes

Mayra Sorto, teacher (NOTE: read note above.  Mayra is Luis' wife and wonderful, powerful warrior for Christ.)

     - teach children 9 and older on Saturdays

Carolina Sorto, teacher (NOTE: read note above.  Carolina is Luis' daughter and is an invaluable asset to the Kingdom.  Besides being a lawyer (always helpful in ministry), she is bilingual and a devoted, organized, and powerful woman in the Lord.)

     - teach children 9 and under on Saturdays

Valerie Schubert, teacher

     - teach in Carolina's place when she is unavailable to teach
